From self-sabotage and obligation to Integrity and Desire

A Talk by Bruce Anderson

About this Talk

Integrity means keeping your commitments and cleaning up the mess when you can’t. Most people are good at keeping commitments to others but are weak at keeping commitments to themselves. If you can’t keep a commitment to yourself, how can you expect to thrive while keeping them to others? Desire refers to what we want. Tasks and responsibilities can be viewed as obligations or desires. If you face those tasks with a sense of sacrifice and obligation, it won’t go well. If you face tasks with a sense of desire, it’s likely to go far better. Integrity towards yourself; face tasks because you want to. Sabotage is what happens when you are out of integrity with yourself.
